The way forward with Isolation.

Great to see on 7 news tonight the progress that South Australia is making around flattening the Coronavirus curve.

As their health minister says, it is too early to shout it from the rooftops, however, if it continues we are to be encouraged.

The story is shown below.

It is time that Australia took a page out of what happens in Asia with infected people not being allowed to isolate at home, rather, they need to go and spend their isolation time in approved facilities. In places like Singapore who have done this, it has been a huge contributing factor in their outbreak being bought to heal.

Out of hibernation.

With the current situation around coronavirus, I have decided to bring this blog out of hibernation. I intend on hopefully writing progressive pieces aimed at demonstrating an alternate way through the current crises. The thoughts in coming posts, are my thoughts only.

Changing banks.

Today was the day that I finally decided to change banks.

The final straw came when I found that I wouldn’t be able to get finance for my new property.  I was changing from Australian national Credit Union to the commonwealth bank.

I walked in to the branch at 12:30pm and walked out after 2:00pm.  Waited 30 minutes before anyone could get to me.  Then spent the next hour and a half doing their paper work.  Hopefully all will get better shortly.

terror law debate

Some of you reading this would have heard about the Australian Anti Terror law debate.

I have the following comment.

The latest thing of the debate relates to the sedition part of the legislation.

I think that it is essential that the legislation is maintained as is.  We have a court system that is quite capable of sorting out the possible problem with the laws.

AFL and sexual harrassment

With the recent talk about sexual harassment and AFL players, I have the following comment.  I think that it’s good that things are going this way.

I hope that what the AFL is doing isn’t challenged in court.  If this is taken to court and the AFL looses, it will be a backward step for all concerned.

It is over due that the AFL as the organization that runs our game took such action.  The AFL is to be commended.

Monday rant

Decided not to go to the bank today and enquire about the home loan.  Will do that once I’ve got $10000saved up.  Changed my phone carrier today from Optus to Vodaphone.  However, when I did the change over, the phone must have done a master reset as I now don’t have any adaptive software on it.

Had the worst day busking that I’ve had in ages.  I put it down to the cold weather.

Buying my own place

As part of being in the market for property of my own, tomorrow sees me off to talk to Australian National credit union about if they would give me a home loan.  I’m in the market for an apartment in Melbourne CBD.  It has always been my dream to be living in the city.  In the first incarnation of this dream, it was going to be renting, however, it has since grown to possibly own my own place.  It will be interesting to see what they’ve got to say.

Van nuwin and Rob Hulls?

I can’t help but comment on our Attorney general’s so called mercy dash to Singapore.

I personally think that it was so un-needed.  The Singapore government have made their decision ages ago.

People who commit crimes in other countries should have to suffer what that jurisdiction dishes out.  I’ll be glad when he has hung.

theatre evening Feb 2nd

I’m going to be attending Dusty the Musical about Dusty Springfield.  This is on at the State Theatre Victorian Arts centre.  I’m going on Wednesday February 2nd 2006.

I have always liked some of that music.  I sing some of it.  That is when I’
Am busking.

When I heard that it had been turned in to a stage musical earlier this year on Peter Forwards show business spot on 3aw'sbreakfast show, I decided then that I wanted to go.

Have finally been able to book the ticket for it. Woohoo!

As at this time, I have only just completed the booking, so the ticket hasn’t arrived.

Oh well that’s life as they say.  Did the booking over the phone, as the Internet is too slow.
